David Ogbolumani is a worldwide information technology security specialist with over two decades of experience in technology risk evaluation, information privacy and security, legal compliance, team building, and global organization leadership.
Prior to his current position as the chief cybersecurity officer and legal counsel for The Rubicon CyberSecurity Group, David Ogbolumani spent years perfecting his technological skillset. As a senior network analyst for Storage Area Networks (SANs) for EDP Contract Services, David set up infrastructures and provided administrative support. He dismantled and repaired servers, created virtual disks and storage sets for data, and wrote all installation and troubleshooting documentation. His next position was with Insight Corporation. David worked as a Microsoft Enterprise Network Architect and Consultant, designing and implementing security protocols and architecture. He assessed and alleviated security risks and operational irregularities.
As the IT Audit Manager for Control Solutions International, David performed advanced security audits on network systems, developed security baselines and benchmarks, and set optimum IT infrastructure levels. David hired and trained IT staff, mentored employees, and delivered lectures as a subject matter expert.
David’s master’s degree at the Illinois Institute of Technology was centered in Information Technology & Management. After graduation, David became the Senior IT Audit Manager for Control Solutions International. He led a team of Network Security Specialists, IT Auditors, IT Audit Managers, and Project Managers. They were tasked with developing risk management services for major corporations throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. David led thought leadership components for clients and publicly spoke at industry events and seminars throughout the United States.
As the IT Security Practice Manager, David Ogbolumani took a position with one of the world’s foremost technology services businesses, SunGuard Data Systems. As an expert in his field, this role was a perfect fit for David, who became the practice lead of his own comprehensive IT security consulting division. While in this role, David expanded on SunGard’s current service offerings and helped launch the firm as one of the few organizations accredited by the Payment Card Industry (PCI), allowing them to publish compliance reports on credit card information. David also became the first SunGard employee to become a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), enabling him to audit merchants for PCI compliance standards.
As the Global IT Security & Chief Information Security Officer for a company based in Illinois and Michigan, David Ogbolumani created an IT Security office as a separate discipline. His practice grew to include 37 nations on five continents. David played a crucial role in bringing management and IT staff together to reach a shared understanding of IT’s role in operations. He initiated and executed a multi-year IT security strategy that positively affected an internal culture that had previously been resistant to technological advances.
